Queenscliff, a seaside resort on the Bellarine Peninsula is a very popular beachside destination steeped in a rich heritage characterised by elegant hotels, guesthouses, galleries, restaurants, cafes, a fine golf course, ferries and wide streets with terraced houses. It has both bay and surf beaches.
It still has 19th-century stone and timber fisherman’s cottages, and a working wharf, boat builders and plenty for the anglers.
It is situated around 30 kms from Geelong just within the entrance tp Port Phillip Bay.
Fort Queenscliff which was built on Shortlands Bluff, overlooking the commercial shipping lanes for Melbourne and Geelong. This was one of my favorite destinations as a child and still should not be missed.
In recent years Queenscliff updated it ferry service to large vehicle carrying vessels so it can be accessed via Geelong or Sorrento.
A fisherman’s paradise and one of the most relaxing seaside destinations in Victoria.
