Fancy a chauffeured trip through the magnificent forest in Central Highlands? Where here is your chance and at a giveaway price. The Daylesford Spa Country Railway is a volunteer run railway that operates for the love of the trains. You can board at the railway station in Raglan Street where the Sunday Market operates.
It is the perfect attraction to enjoy once you have finished your market shopping and only takes around 35 minutes. You get to travel through the beautiful scenic countryside and forests of the Central Highlands in one of their restored Victorian Railways railmotors. Your travels take you along the top of the range traverses open farmland and thick forest, passing the sites of ancient volcanos and little communities established in the gold rush era. It is inexpensive and operates every Sunday.
If you are after something a bit more classy try the Silver Streak which is a food and wine train offering the unique opportunity to enjoy the nostalgia of yesteryear on a catered train journey through the Musk Forest in a 1970s DRC (Diesel Rail Car) Enjoy live music as you roll along the track with glass in hand (sparkling, wine, beer, soft drink) and delightful finger food served by the hospitality team of the Daylesford Spa Country Railway. All aboard!
