Cobbs Bakery is located in Bank St which is one of the main streets in Port Fairy. It takes up two buildings with the bakery in one while the other caters for customers who want to dine with a coffee in the tea rooms. There is also the option of sitting outside in front of the tea rooms.
The bakery offers an impressive range of goods both savoury and sweet with my personal favorite being the curried scallop pie. I won’t recommend you to try it because they don’t make many and frequently they have sold out before I get there. So perhaps you could try the garlic prawn pie instead.
I find it good to see a country bakery with such a variety of product. Croissants should be standard at a bakery now but many I have visited didn’t seem to know what they were so Cobbs Bakery gets a big tick there.
If you are dining in the Tea Rooms it is a bit different to normal. You order at the bakery counter and they bring over the coffee in ceramic cups but the savoury or sweet is just in the takeaway bag and you eat it out of the bag. No paper plates or anything. No problems but can be a shock if you are expecting cafe service.
